Burns RV Park, Burns Oregon

Burns RV Park was just a stop-over, but as it turned out, the park was nicer than expected.  We did pick the wrong time to visit the campground because there were 1500 parents and kids in town for a week-long baseball tournament. So a normally empty park on a Sunday night was full and then some (they added several "rustic"  campsites in the grass field at the rear of the park).  It's a good thing I plan several months in advance and had a reserved spot.  The campground has some excellent campsites and we got one of them.  It was very obvious that the park staff took pride in maintaining a friendly and well-cared-for park.  The park is laid out weird though.  To access the loop that our campsite was in, you needed to drive out of the park and re-enter on a side road.  Also, there was no defined path to walk from our loop back into the rest of the park, so people were cutting through sites to do this.  The office staff was more than friendly and made you feel welcome.  In the office, they did sell RV supplies, beer & wine, and they had a small freezer with ice cream.  We are definitely going to add this park to our list of parks to revisit.  It's unfortunate that Burns doesn't offer much as far as entertainment, so we'll probably keep this park as a stop-over park vs a destination park even though it's as nice as it is.
