The Oregon Cascade Mountains

Camping in the Cascades...Pacific Crest Trail Sign  Since I've been camping with an RV, I haven't done much camping in the Oregon Cascades.  Milo McIver State Park is the only campground so far.  It is located in the lower foothills of Mt. Hood on the Clackamas River, which actually starts in the Jefferson Wilderness.  The Pacific Crest Trail runs the length of the Oregon Cascades.  I've hike sections of the trail many times but have never been so adventuresome to hike it end to end.  Thirty years ago, that may have been on my bucket list, but it's not anymore.  We'll continue to camp along the trail and do day hikes.  We plan on adding a lot more campgrounds in this section.

If you're interested in more information about the Cascades, I highly recommend Wikipedia.  This site has a wealth of information on the range
