Ely KOA Journey

    The drive to the park from Las Vegas was easier than I had thought.  Although we had summited at 7300 ft. the incline was gradual enough that it was too much strain on the coach.  We arrived at the park around one in the afternoon and checked in.  They assigned as a nice pull-thru site separate from the rest of the RV sites which was fine but gave me directions to get there that forced me to disconnect and back out and come in a different direction.  It was no big deal.  We had planned to drive into town and check it out anyway.  The park is very nice with lots of staff who seem like they really care about the place.  I was surprised to see the number of cabins and tent sites besides several rows of RV sites.  We will definitely keep the park on our list of parks to return to.  The next time we'll have to plan on a few days so we can check out the Great Basin area.

This campground has rustic comfy Cabins, authentic Tipi's, and several Deluxe Cabins - complete with full baths, kitchenettes, and LP gas grills. Family fun includes a playground, volleyball & basketball courts, horseshoe pits, cornhole & even a croquet set are available. Two dog walk areas and on-site corrals keep your four-legged travel companions happy. Max pull-thru: 90 feet.
